Pupil Premium at Ruskin Junior School

Pupil Premium is a government grant which is to be used to raise the attainment of the pupils who receive it. The money is given directly to the school who then look at how it is best to allocate the money. If parents are in receipt of certain benefits, then your child may be eligible for pupil premium. If you think your child may be eligible, contact the school office or make your application online.

At Ruskin Junior School, we are committed to providing all children access to a high-quality, inclusive curriculum. Our curriculum is aimed to encourage opportunities to enhance cultural capital to give children opportunities to gain a wide range of knowledge and acquire a range of skills.

Pupil Premium children are provided with the same opportunities as all the other children; participating in sports teams, members of the school council, participating in the Shakespeare in School Festival, attending residential trips and all other aspects of school life.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, we have 110 pupils eligible for Pupil Premium funding. We have identified the approaches we are going to use over the course of the year to enrich the learning opportunities of our Pupil Premium children. All of the approaches we use to support Pupil Premium children in school are research based methods and we have demonstrated positive impact on children’s attainment over the past three years.  Pupil premium provision is reviewed regularly during the school year which includes feedback to governors.
